George was baptised George Russell at St Alipius Roman Catholic Church on 18/10/1856 when he was 14.He reverted to the Forward surname after his mother died.He did use the name George Russell Forward when registering the birth of his first child.
George and his family came over to WA around 1894.
In 1899 post office records show George as living at Mt Charlotte,Kalgoorlie.
In 1900 he died from a skull fracture sustained in a fall of earth at the Mignonette Lease,Tampa,WA.His wife Jane notified the Menzies registrar of his death in writing from her home in Great Boulder.
George is buried at Tampa cemetery,there is no headstone to mark the grave but it is believed that someone has marked the grave with a pile of rocks.
Only two other individuals are buried at Tampa.

According to family that knew her, Jane claimed she did not know her parents and the couple that bought her out here had a fight and burnt all of her/their papers.

Jane aged 7 years arrived in Victoria, Australia with parents/gaurdians,Robert(34) & MrsBrash(36) in September 1862 per BRUCE.

Jane married William Forward in 1871 and cites fathers name Brash christian name unknown and mothers name unknown.

Mary Scott reverted to her maiden name by the time she died in 1872, whilst Robert died in 1914 described as as a widower but issue unknown on his death certificate.

Jane was living in Great Boulde, Western Australiar when her husband died in 1900.
In 1916 post office records show she was living at 58A Moran st Boulder, she lived there until her death in 1934 aged 79 years.

Jane's age on various documents suggest she may have been born in 1854, her birth place was always listed as Glasgow or Scotland.

Known to family as little grandma, she always wore long dresses and boots and liked to lie in bed reading her bible by candlelight. According to family sources she had done some beautiful paintings one of Christ carrying a lantern and another of a stag or deer.

according to the Book Irish Fortunes by Gladys Clarke,George ,Sarah & Frances embarked on the William Jardine late August 1841.George Forward was a gardener and had been sponsered by Mr Vickory of George Street Sydney at a wage of 30 pounds a year plus rations.
They arrived on the 23 December 1841.
When their son George was christened,George & Sarah were living at Arkstone,Burrowa,NSW, George being a servant to Mr Howell.By 1848 when their second son was born George was a gardener living at Pudman,Burrowa,NSW.

Sarah made her way to SA after her second son was born.She was working as a cook at Lindsay Park the home of the Angas Family when she met William Russell,bullock-drover for the Angas Family.
She claimed to be a widow,and married William after their fourth child was born.
William and Sarah claimed to have been married 9th August 1841 in Gunning,NSW when baptising their illegitamate son Edward at St Alipius Roman Catholic Church,Ballarat.
When George gave detail of his mothers death,he signed it as George Russell and completed the details in accordance with the accepted story that Sarah had married once to William in NSW.
